How the draft will work?

Player Categories
Before registering themselves for the Big League 2022-23 draft, players got a chance to nominate themselves for one of the categories from gold, silver, or bronze. They can also opt for the selection in two categories or all three categories at the same time. The best players from the list are elevated to the platinum list, which is the highest-paid category in the league. In Round One, the teams can pick from the platinum players list. In Round Two, the teams can pick from both Platinum and Gold. Gold and Silver players can be picked in Round Three. In Round Four, which is the final round, teams can decide to pick from Silver and Bronze lists.
Player Retention
Each club can retain one overseas cricketer from the last edition before the Big Bash League 2022-23 draft. Adelaide Strikers is expected to retain Rashid Khan for the twelfth season of the league. If any team wants to retain a cricketer, it can use its retention right and retain that cricketer in the round. No team can retain more than one cricketer in the draft.
Player Salaries in Big Bash League 2022-23
